Backwards Infighting

The friendly competition even shows in the backmasking. From time to time you find a backmask that is a bit funny like the "pair of sleepy red moose". This one falls in that camp.

Billy Is A Righty!

Here's a clue that is obvious after seeing it. I got the tip from the Nothing Is Real forum. I never noticed this in the Penny Lane video before. But then again I probably wasn't looking for it either. ;)

Let It Be Whisper

Here's one that I think I've heard about before...I just can't remember where. It is cool that joey at Youtube made a clip of it.

Thanks joey.

In On The Joke

Billy Shears as McCartney appeared on The Simpsons episode 3F03, "Lisa The Vegetarian." He helps Lisa become a vegetarian and tells her that if you play this song backwards, you hear a recipe for lentil soup. Over the closing credits of that episode, if you listen carefully, you can hear the backwards message. As an extra feature on The Simpsons DVD, you can hear McCartney read the recipe and say, "There you have it Simpsons lovers, oh and by the way, I'm alive."

The lentil soup recipe he speaks backwards is:

- one medium onion, chopped
- two tablespoons of vegetable oil
- one clove of garlic, crushed
- one cup of carrots, chopped
- two sticks of celery, chopped
- half a cup of lentils
- one bay leaf
- one tablespoon of freshly-chopped parsley
- salt and freshly-ground pepper to taste
- two and a quarter cups of vegetable stock or water

I'll have to try the recipe out. Billy was certainly in on it yet I wonder how many young people watching the Simpsons episode probably missed "the joke" altogether.

Apu sings "I'm Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Man, I hope I will enjoy my show". Since Sgt. Pepper's was the platform for his entrance maybe that should have been sung by Billy.

The "India" Clue

An unreleased song from 2002's Back in The US DVD website "secret show" apparently has another "secret" to share. I found this backmask in the first "verse". It is actually the same refrain over and over. I like this song alot though, so if you want to see the full performance click here.

Ringo's "Three" Cover

Is Ringo trying to tell us something here? Here are some comments from Doctor Lev's site:

It seems the Beatles, I mean Beatle, are still leaving clues to this day.

On the cover of Ringo's new album, Choose Love,he is holding up a peace sign, but it is with three fingers! Why three fingers?

Who makes a peace sign with three fingers? Everyone knows a peace sign is done with two fingers. Perhaps it means three dead Beatles? (or...one and one and one is three)

Also notice that two of the fingers are close together and the other one is separate from the other two. Could this mean that the two fingers close together are the dead Beatles you know about and the other separate finger is the dead Beatle you don't know about...James Paul McCartney?

-Bryan, Rockville, MD

Nice observation, Bryan. Nice "threace" sign, Ringo.

"This One" - Video Clues

Here is the video for the Beatle Billy Shear's song "This One", in which he, visuallly refers back to the Blue Jay Way clue and adds a NEW backmask clue. It can be interpreted in different ways I'm sure...this is my interpretation.

“This One” CD Art And Songs

This is the art work from Billy Shears' “This One” cd 1989 Parlophone UK release.

some "leading" lyrics to This One:

"This one is gliding above the ocean
A God is riding upon his back
How calm the water and bright the rainbow
Fade this one to black

What opportunities did we allow to flow by
Feeling like the time it wasn’t quite right
What kind of magic might have worked if we had stayed calm
Couldn’t I have given you a better life?"

The jacket has Krishna riding a swan over a body of water. The water has a reflection of the swan but no Krishna. Do you remember the backward message on "Blue Jay Way" that said "Paul is what is. Paul is Hare Krishna".

Using a reflection is not a new device in the mystery as seen in the bass drum of the Beatles Sgt. Peppers, in which the word ONE was a prominent feature. Perhaps Billy is trying to say he is not THIS ONE (fade to black) but another one.

The CD includes RARE Unreleased tracks:
This One (from Flowers in the Dirt cd)-"Flowers in the Dirt" is the bass guitar in yellow flowers on Sgt. Peppers
The First Stone = the first Beatle headstone
I Wanna Cry = mourning
I’m In Love Again = rebirth? renewal? (yeah, yeah, yeah! it's a stretch)

Passing For The Originals

Is this a clue? The Beatles are told they could pass for the originals...then Billy Shears is introduced. Interesting connection and great clips from The Yellow Submarine.
